About St. Kitts & Nevis Chamber of Industry & Commerce
The St. Kitts and Nevis Chamber of Industry and Commerce (SKNCIC) is the premier private sector organization dedicated to cultivating an enabling environment for sustainable private sector growth and development across the Federation.
Incorporated on June 18, 1949, the Chamber was established to meet the needs of a post-war, rapidly growing business community within an economy long dominated by sugar cultivation. Over the decades, SKNCIC has evolved into a dynamic institution that advocates for businesses of all sizes and sectors, serving as both a voice for its members and a catalyst for private sector advancement.
The Chamber operates as a business support and research organization, with a strong mandate to lobby on behalf of its members. Key milestones in its history include the successful amalgamation of the St. Kitts Manufacturers’ Association in 1988, which created the Manufacturers’ Division within the Chamber and the formation of the Nevis Division in 1996.
As of January 2025, the Chamber proudly represents over 100 member companies spanning a wide cross-section of the national economy. Membership includes leaders in services, manufacturing, import and export, distribution, information technology, agriculture, tourism, education, healthcare, and community development, demonstrating SKNCIC’s central role as the umbrella body of the private sector.
